What face shape are you

One of the first things I learned in beautyschool is how to find your face shape.
Knowing your face shape can help you a lot as it can determine how to best apply your make-up or what haircut suits you the most.

There are 7 different face shapes. Oval, square, round, oblong, pear shaped, heart shaped and diamond.
Below I will show you how you can find your face shape.

1. Oval

An oval face shape is considered the perfect shape.
Generally speaking an oval face shape can pull anything off. So if you have an oval face shape you should consider yourself lucky.
If you're an oval face shape then the lenght of your face should be about one and a half times the width of it. This shape has very soft lines. There are no sharp edges, so there needs to be no 'correction' with make-up.

2. Square

You can recognize a square face shape by looking at the hairline and the jawline. If they are basically the same then you have a square face. These faces often come across as strong and very angular. The jawline will be very outspoken and the contours of the face almost appear to be vertical. You can soften a square face by contouring the sharp edges.

3. Round

A round face will be fuller and you will often appear to be younger than your are. It will most likely be short and wide. Your face shape is almost as wide as it is long. Some celebrities with round faces include Mila Kunis, Cameron Diaz and Kirsten Dunst. You'll want to avoid using blush on the apples of your cheeks. You can make your face appear more oval by contouring you cheeckbones, this will make the face look thinner. Make sure you don't make your eyebrows to round as this will draw attention to the roundness of your face.

4. Oblong

With an oblong face your forehead and chin will be very prominent. An oblong face resembles an oval face, but it has more lenght than width. Your jawline will be sharp, so don't put any highlighter on there as this will draw more attention to it. Just put a little bit of contour on your chin and forehead to make them appear a little smaller. You also want to put blush on the apples of your cheeks to make it look rounder.

5. Pear shaped

A pear shaped face will be smaller at the temples a go wider around the jawline. To correct this face shape you'll want to put highlight on your forehead, your cheeckbones and on the tip of your chin. Put a little contour on your jawline to make it appear less wide and you're good to go.

6. Heart shaped

A heart shaped face is the exact opposite of the pear shaped face. You'll be wider at your temples and you'll have a pointy chin. Contour below your chin to make it less sharp and also contour the widest parts of your face.

7. Diamond

Diamond shaped faces usually have amazing checckbones. You'll have sharper edges, so the trick is to contour these points to make your face look softer. I personally do like to highlight the cheeckbones, because they are simply amazing.
